Surf in Finland
Well probably not the best country to start when you want to do surfing on the beach, especially at winter time. But with some improvising it was possible to do some practice moves in snowy Finland to get me prepared for my “Surf for Life” 🙂
Surf For Life (www.surfforlife.org) is a non-profit organization that sponsors educational and community-driven development projects in coastal communities around the world.
I’ll have the opportunity to work with a local community to build and renovate educational facilities in Nicaragua in April 2013. I’ll be working hands-on to improve access to education so that future generations will have hope of a better future.
All my traveling costs and onside costs for the volunteer week are already covered by me. But I’m asking for a donation of 5US$, if you can give more great! But anything you can afford will make a difference as 100% are contributed to the project.
You can donate directly online via my donation page: https://www.surfforlife.org/give/Sven-Koble/
Thank you for your support in advance 🙂
Kiitos (Finnish for Thank you) Johanna for the support of the “surf board” equipment and the picture taking process 🙂 And Kiitos Johanna & Visa for letting me stay at your house in Espoo again. Hope to see you next year in Germany again 🙂
Have a happy St. Nicholas and many greetings from Hong Kong
